Leif Garrett - I Was Made For Dancin'

Today's youth probably would have never known who Leif Garrett was if not for a 1999 episode of VH1's Behind the Music, in which his teen idol career was showcased as well as his subsequent drug abuse. He had a number of charting singles in the late 70's and early 80's, but only one top 10 hit. In 1979, this single, I Was Made For Dancin' peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and #4 on the UK charts.

As an update on Leif's life, sadly, his battle with drugs is still going on. According to Wikipedia.com - On January 14, 2006, Garrett was arrested on a Metro Red Line subway platform in downtown Los Angeles, California for allegedly not having a ticket. Heroin was found in his possession and Garrett was held in jail without bail before being sentenced to a live-in drug rehabilitation program. He left the program, believing it to be too strict, and was consequently sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years' probation on May 11, 2006. He was credited with the time served since March 30, when he was placed in custody for failing a drug test.
